How A 3 Day Survival Kit Can Be Prepared

Disasters can happen at any time and at any place. These tragedies may include floods, typhoons, tsunamis, fires, and others. Most of the times, these events can claim the lives of a lot of people and also damage a lot of properties. Even if there are instruments that can detect the possibility of certain tragedies, people should prepare themselves at all times.

National and also local governments are disseminating information regarding what people should be doing before, during, and also after a calamity. One is preparing a 3 day survival kit. An individual should see to it that he has the following items in his own kit.

The individual should be buying a bag where he will be putting his necessities. He should see to it that he will be buying a durable bag. In this manner, all of his belongings will be remaining inside the container and will not be falling off from it. He might also have to be buying a water proof one for his things not to be getting wet in case of a heavy rain or flood.

Usually, evacuation centers may not provide clean water. For this matter, they will have to bring their own clean water so that they can quench their thirsts while they stay in the evacuation centers. They should bring one gallon per day per person. They also need to store non perishable food such as noodles or canned goods. For the latter, they also have to bring can openers so that they can eat these goods.

The person should be bringing his cellphone with him for him to be communicating with other people or government agencies about the situation. He should also be keeping extra batteries and a charger for him to be utilizing his cellphone. Apart from that, he should have a transistor radio for him to be aware of important announcements and events. He must have a flashlight in illuminating his way through the night.

Copies of personal documents should also be possessed. The documents can include birth and marriage certificates, passports, insurance policies, and identification cards, among others. They will aid government agencies to have these people be identified and provided with any assistance that is needed by them.

Even if there are disasters, it is important for them to observe cleanliness so that they will not get sick, especially during typhoons and floods. They may need to carry items for sanitation and hygiene such as wet wipes, alcohol, and toothbrushes, among others. They may also need to carry extra clothes so that they can change into dry ones if ever they get wet from heavy rains.

He should also be putting medical supplies in his bag. The supplies might be medicines for stomachaches, headaches, and colds, which are usually common when people are staying inside evacuation centers. He also needs cotton, alcohol, and band aids, in case he will have a cut, burn, or wound.

He also needs a multi purpose tool for cutting or fixing something. He should have a map with him. He should be planning beforehand on where he will be meeting up with his family members in case they are separated. All other members should be aware of the contact information of essential persons and agencies.
