By Stacey Burt

Going camping is one way that you can reconnect with nature and family. This has been dubbed as the most common choice of people when they want to bond over the weekend with their folks and friends. Aside from it is adventurous you get to enjoy a change in scenery that is not what you usually see in the cities, it is also a relaxing activity.

One of the first things that you have to accomplish is the place where you will be taking a trip to. Most of the campers could recommend that you go to a certain area in Lanesborough, MA. Camping in the Berkshires is enjoyable and adventurous at the same time. But if this is a place that is too far away from your home, you should choose a site that is nearer.

There have been a lot of trips that resulted to disaster because they were not prepared enough. For you to not undergo all of this turmoil and be able to enjoy all the things that you are supposed to do, there is a list of things that you should avoid at all costs. The list will below will surely keep your whole trip disaster free.

One typical mistake that campers make is not trying out the equipment that they have. This applies for both the old and the new ones. For the older ones, you have to be certain that it is still working. On the other hand, the newer ones need to be reassembled or tested out so that you can see how it works and you would not have a problem assembling it in the campsite.

Most individuals think that their toiletries would be safe inside the tent. But just like food, there are insects that can be attracted to the smell and taste of your stuff. It would be better to keep them in a secure and insect resistant place so that you do not have to deal with removing ants in your toothpaste.

When you spend most of the time taking the trip to the campsite, most likely you will arrive when it is near dark. And this can be a disadvantage in so many ways. You would not be able to set tent up clearly. And preparing the site for you to just relax will be more difficult when you cannot see anything.

Before you leave, you have to check the weather. At least you would have the time to cancel if it is bad. And if you are in a situation when the rain occurs during the time that you are already camping, a rainy gear would be most helpful. Be sure that you packed enough for the whole family.

Aside from a rain gear, it would also do you well if you try to pack a repair kit. There will be times when you cannot predict what can happen to your equipment. And when the tents are leaking, it does not really feel comfortable when you are inside. So search the internet for some of the essentials that you can take with you for repairs.

One of the issues that most campers usually face is food shortage. For this, planning what you will eat for that specific time is very helpful. And if there are people who over eat, at least you can be sure that no shortage would ever happen.
