The Benefits Of Soy Protein Shakes For Weight Loss

By Kimberly Bowen

Meal replacements have come a long, long way in recent years. Yes, at first quite a few of them tasted like chalk or cardboard - yuck! You lost weight because you couldn't abide the taste! These days, however, the meal replacement bars are shakes are quite tasty, even to the point where you would eat or drink them even if you weren't trying to lose weight! That is the truth with the protein shakes for weight loss.

Eating enough protein helps you in melting fat and losing weight fast by supporting your lean tissue. Every pound of lean tissue burns 14 calories per day compared to about three calories burned for each pound of fat per day. So keeping up with staying lean and melting fat helps you burn more calories at rest.

While it's true that there are various sources of proteins, soy, is one of the most affordable and high source of proteins. Considered as a complete source of protein, soy contains the essential nine amino acids the body needs on a daily basis.

Throw 4 to 5 ice cubes into the blender together with a glass of soy milk. Break up the banana into smaller pieces and throw it into the blender as well. If you want additional amino acids, add 1 or 2 eggs to the mix. Blend everything for 2 to 3 minutes. If you have a smaller blender, mix for about 5 minutes. You have a nutritious soy drink waiting for you!

One soy shakes a day can solve all the problems that you women fret about daily. For example, soy contains antioxidants that help to build and maintain the tissue in the hair nails and skin. And you thought you needed a spa treatment every month. Guess what? Soy will help you maintain those areas you fret about the most. Having a healthy diet is clearly important if you wish to maintain in a healthy state. Soy products provide a large amount of varied nutritional content, which is rarely found in natural forms - this makes it very appealing for those aspiring to higher health levels!

Over the last couple of years, you may have noted that more fitness professionals have been using soy shakes, and talking about the benefits of soy protein in general. The reason for this is that soy provides a high level of protein to the body, but without the extra fat and carbohydrates that are found in the usual sources such as eggs or red meat.

Unlike the others forms of protein shakes, the soy drinks come in many forms, most of which do not naturally contain the amino acid methionine which is used by your muscles to convert the amino acids into fuel easily. What this means is that unlike a whey or a steak, the benefit of soy will not transfer through to your muscles rapidly (a disaster straight after a weights session).

If you desire to shade off extra calories look at the overall mix of carbohydrates, sugars, protein, fiber, and vitamins. Use the shakes to keep you fully nourished while you restrict calories. If your goal is to improve your body through exercise and resistance training choose your soy based on quantity and quality of protein included in the shake. Shakes are a great meal or snack on the go.
